Serving you and your family is a great blessing in my life.
I am passionate about my work.
Quite frankly, I consider my work to be my calling.
My desire is to help your loved one communicate, interact, and learn as effectively as possible.
While I have much training and experience, I feel very strongly that I only see a snapshot of your loved one. You know their life as a whole movie. For that reason, I prefer to work closely with loved ones.
I have a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and maintain current licensure by the state of Texas. Since 1976, I have held the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association.
I have experience in a variety of settings in Hawaii and Texas … including early childhood centers, a private speech-language clinic, a hospital home care agency, a pediatric home care agency, a K-12 college-preparatory private school, and the not-for-profit Dallas Area Parkinson’s Society.
I do extensive continuing education. Being current is my ethical responsibility.
I homeschooled my two children through fourth and sixth grades. Both went on to graduate from Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas, graduated from well-known universities, have married, and are actively serving their communities. To five Little Ones, I am known as Nana Lynn!
I became a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas Provider at the request of clients. Being a BCBSTX Provider means that I file electronically for you. Later, I send your Patient Share. If you want to use BCBSTX insurance, I ask that you call BCBSTX to see if your plan covers speech / language / swallowing therapy. I ask that you find out if pre-authorization is required. I find that calling helps folks know what to expect. I do serve folks with BCBSTX PPOs. I do not serve people using BCBSTX HMOs because of the complications of getting referrals from their physicians and the limited number of approved sessions.
I am happy to provide my Private Pay list of fees and services. If you have other health insurance, I am happy to provide you with paperwork for reimbursement. You submit my receipts, diagnosis codes, and procedure codes to your insurance company. My hope is that your costs are reimbursed by your health insurance … because we pay so much for that insurance!
Regardless, know that speech therapy IS considered to be a medical expense on personal federal taxes.
Please feel free to contact me. I would love to help!
