Schedule Appointments!

Everyone is missing family and friends these days.  Especially the little people.

These little ones are growing up while we are isolating!

May I make a suggestion?

Schedule appointments with the little folks you miss!

Kiddos seem to love it.

I’ll explain what is working for me.

I made a list of Little Ones I refuse to miss.  With the help of their Attending Adults, we planned a time to meet.  That’s our standing appointment.  We Zoom or Facetime just as though our time were a doctor’s appointment.  Depending on circumstances, meetings could be weekly or bi-weekly or monthly.

Right now, I have standing weekly appointments with two of my five.

One is a busy little guy who’s five.  He’ll easily talk 30 minutes, sitting on the couch.  Then he starts rolling around.   Add books after conversation and he can easily visit for an hour.

The other little one is two.  She absolutely LOVES, LOVES  books.  She listens best if she is seated in her high chair.   I pull out her stack of books.  She chooses the sequence.  She can easily read with me for an hour!

Here’s how I position myself to read.  Seated in a rocker with arms.

Notice, a large pillow is under my elbow to support my arm.  Holding books for an hour is tiring!  With one hand, I can hold the book open so I can read and share the pictures.

In this last photo, I’m still in the rocker with arms.  But there are two large pillows under my arm.  That works well, too.

What to read?  Ask the Attending Adults about current interests.

These Little Ones are too important to miss!
